Church Housing Trust recently contacted benefices across the country encouraging them to join us for World Homeless Week.
The week, based around World Homeless Day on 10 October, encourages churches, groups and congregations to take the opportunity to think about how they may engage more directly with the issue of homelessness, especially as the days grow colder and the nights get longer.
This is the first time Church Housing Trust has reached out to churches for this exciting week and we were overwhelmed by the response! Digital copies of all the items available can be downloaded below.
But activities do not need to be limited to between 9 and 15 October. Homelessness is increasing in England and the UK as a whole, and you may be well aware that more and more people are turning to the church for help. Demand for the support grants that Church Housing Trust gives has also increased by half again this year.
That is why it is essential to continue spreading messages about the many difficulties that homeless people face, and that small actions done with love can truly change their lives.
If you feel able to share pictures of your World Homeless Week actions with us on social media, or send an update about how fundraisers and group discussions turned out, please email us, tweet us @churchhousing, or find us on Facebook.
